A rare encounter with exceptional English wine — a singular expression of the Isle of Wight

Few vineyard visits anywhere in England can offer what Gatcombe does: three distinct vineyards on a single 18th-century Georgian Isle of Wight estate, each with its own character, aspect and story, explored together in one unhurried afternoon.

Your guided tour takes you on foot through all three of Gatcombe’s vineyards – Hope, Home, and Park – with your host explaining the thinking behind each site: the soils, the slopes, the Burgundian and classic Champagne varieties planted to express them (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Blanc), and the vision that brought 18,000 vines to life quietly hidden in the Island’s verdant heart. The tour continues into the winery itself, where you’ll see how the estate’s first vintages were made, from hand-picked fruit to finished bottle.

The experience culminates in a guided flight of three wines from Gatcombe’s inaugural 2025 harvest — the very first bottles the estate has produced, including a Rosé and Pinot Blanc. Tasted alongside a sharing board of charcuterie and cheese sourced from Island producers, these are wines with a provenance and a story you will have witnessed for yourself.
